Solon Springs artists create Veterans Day mosaic, stop-motion animation - Superior Telegram | News, weather, sports from Superior Wisconsin
SOLON SPRINGS — High school sophomore Gage Wilberg creates clay figurines and model mech robots to use in staged dioramas and stop-motion animation. Wilberg has been using a computer-aided design program to create 3-D mech robot designs. Once the designs are printed out using a 3-D printer he paints them. His recent project consists of creating a stop-motion animation using a digital camera and video production software.
Our eighth grade class created an installation project for our school Veterans Day Celebration on Nov. 11. We created the image using Adobe Photoshop and cut the image into 56 pieces that were 1-inch-by-1 ½-inch squares. Students choose four or five squares at random and are tasked with painting each of the squares they choose on a 9-inch-by-12-inch piece of paper. The focus of this project sought to expose students to proportion, mosaic and public installation.
