I transformed my outside using £15 stone tiles
A COUPLE with a minimalist home have shared how they turned their plain garden steps into a little piece of Greece.
DIY fans have gushed over the outdoor renovation after the pair showcased how they did it with £15 sticky tiles and a lick of paint.
The homeowners, posting under Arkwell on TikTok, bought light stone decking tiles from KMart to create European-inspired stairs leading to the higher part of their garden.
They first put cement down to create a smooth canvas that the tiles could sit on top of.
They removed some of the stones from the plastic tiling sheet and rearranged them to create a seamless look across the steps.
Once everything was laid in place, they grouted between the stones and painted the vertical part of each step and surrounding walls white.
People gushed over the finished result and said it reminded them of a very aesthetic European country.
One fan said: "It's giving Greece."
Someone replied: "Literally my exact thoughts."
Another person penned: "It looks like you’re on holiday."
A third weighed in: "This is so gorgeous."
Other fans of the renovation thought the steps looked fresh out of Santorini - a legendary Greek island mobbed every summer.
The Arkwell wife explained about the renovation in the comments: "My husband rendered it for us.
"His first rendering and found it not too hard.
"After rendering we painted it using Dulux natural white exterior paint."
Rendering is the process of smoothing out the surface area of the steps.
Arkwell's video has totted up an impressive 686k views of people keen to recreate it in their own garden.
The pair live in Australia in what they describe as a "minimalist home".
