How to Complete Cave Mushrooms That Glow in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Gather glowing mushrooms for the sisters Nat and Meghyn in Tears of the Kingdom.
During Link's journey in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, he will cross paths with a multitude of characters in need of his assistance, some of whom will require his help on more than one occasion. Among Hyrule's needier residents are the sisters Nat and Meghyn, who will become recurring figures in Link's quest, seeking his aid in a variety of small explorative tasks. Here's where Tears of the Kingdom players can find the sisters to start the first of their quests, "Cave Mushrooms That Glow."
Link will first encounter Nat and Meghyn outside a cave nestled in a cliff wall at coordinates -3005, 1635, 0201. The cave is located directly east of Oromuwak Shrine, which is found at coordinates -3080, 1618, 0243, making it an excellent fast travel point. When players arrive, they’ll find the two sisters expressing frustration over their current task at hand.
The sisters explain that they have an urgent need for Brightcap mushrooms. However, Meghyn expresses her fear of venturing into the cave, citing the potential presence of unknown creatures. Nat states that they require 10 Brightcap mushrooms, though does not give a reason why she won't go into the cave herself to grab them. If Link already has ten of these mushrooms, he can promptly hand them over to Nat, instantly completing the "Cave Mushrooms That Glow" quest.
However, should Link not possess the required Brightcap mushrooms, he must delve into the appropriately-named Brightcap Cave nearby to embark on a search for the luminous fungi. As he descends into the cave, Link will find the purple-glowing Brightcap mushrooms that he needs adorning the cave walls. A bit further down the path he will encounter two enemies, a Horriblin and a Like Like. Fortunately, Link can dispatch these creatures swiftly, especially with careful utilization of nearby Bomb Flowers.
Within the depths of the cave, the player will easily amass a sufficient quantity of Brightcap mushrooms to fulfill the sisters' request. However, before leaving the cave, it is worthwhile for the player to venture to its very end. There, they will discover a small shrine containing a chest surrounded by thorny vines.
The player can easily overcome this natural obstacle by burning the thorns with fire. Link can throw a Fire Fruit or other flammable material at the thorns and wait while they burn away. Once the thorns are gone, the path to the chest will be cleared and Link can claim the treasure. Opening the chest, Link will obtain the Frostbite Shirt, which is part of the Frostbite Armor set. This not only provides 2 Defense but also increases Link's damage dealt in cold environments.
Upon securing the treasure, as Link turns back to retrace his steps to exit the cave, he will notice an interesting sight to his upper right. Leading up to the ceiling of the cave there is a ledge with two visible Luminous Stone mineral veins. The path up to the ledge is covered with thorns. Link can once again employ fire to eradicate the thorny barrier, granting him access to climb up to the ledge. Once there, he can claim the mineral veins and will also encounter the cave's resident Bubbulfrog, who can be defeated to claim its Bubbulgem. Upon exiting the cave, players are free to hand the mushrooms over to the sisters, who will reward them with a Spicy Tomato Mushroom Stew.
