Except this time, it’ll be a place to keep it proudly on display!
“DreamGarages Australia tiles can make an old garage pop!” says DreamGarages founder and CEO Luke Tadich.
“Our tiles allow you to easily transform your old tired floor into a new dynamic floor, one that covers cracks and spills and gives you a pristine looking floor without the large expense.”
Easy to install, super durable compared with the old paint or epoxy surfaces, anti-slip and with interchangeable tiles it’s simply the fastest and easiest way to give the garage a complete makeover, Luke says.
“Forget the epoxy/paint lifting, cracking and fading, our tiles are solid throughout,” Luke adds.
“The tiles create a layer between the cold slab floor and the finished floor, meaning warmer flooring, they have channels to wick water away so you have no standing water like on traditional garage flooring, and are simple to replace in the event of any damage. “And as a bonus, the tiles are specially treated to withstand chemicals seen in most garages.”
Calling the DreamGarage surface “hard wearing” is an understatement.
Inspired by the DreamCourts surfaces The Block contestants have used to bring multi-use sports spaces to their homes for the past three years (check out our DreamCourts feature here [hyperlink]) these are a similar but very different concept to their sporting cousin and built to take a lot more than a bouncing ball.
“Each interlocking tile is made from hardwearing polypropylene plastic that can withstand extreme weights (32 tonnes rolling and 10 tonne static), temperatures, chemicals and UV protection,” Luke says.
“These tiles have more surface contact points then DreamCourts Tiles, allowing for more weight distribution, without any of the shock absorbing properties.”
All of which made it a natural choice for The Block Island contestants this year.
In every house, the Blockheads opted for a DreamGarage floor for their garages, choosing the colour and pattern they wanted, then installing it themselves.
Kylie and Brad opted for a chequerboard design which wowed the judges.
“The Dream Garages tiles are so simple to install and make a huge difference,” says The Block Island contestant Ricky, who used the innovative surface to transform their garage into a multi-use space perfect for what Block judges called “The Fun Factory”.
From a practicality standpoint they, great to cover any imperfections or irregularities in your floor surface – anything from a stain to patches in concrete.
But in a range of colours and with the pattern only restricted by what you can imagine, it’s how the garages look with their new floor that make the biggest difference.
“It’s the colours and patterns we loved! You can make up anything you like, the versatility is key!”Even better – especially when you’re building a holiday home – DreamGarages Australia tiles are easy to maintain.
The tiles are designed to have dirt, spills and liquids to fall through the small channels and live under the tile to evaporate, leaving a clean surface at all times.
Just use a leaf blower to remove any large debris, if you have any stains you can use a hose or pressure washer or can use a wet mop and if you really need to, just swap out a tile and replace it with a new one.
“And if you want to use the space for something else – like a gym for example – you can change out the tiles to give it a great new look,” Ricky adds.”
“It’s a whole new way of looking at the garage.”
