"I put contact paper all over my bathroom wall to show you another renter-friendly DIY," TikTok user Julia Sousa (@the_avantgarde) said in a September 14 video. "The point is to make it safe to use construction adhesive without damaging your walls."
After contact papering the wall you’re going to transform, you can grab a box of faux stone facade and a construction adhesive like Liquid Nails and begin attaching. "But the glue does take 24 hours to dry, so I used these glue dots to hold up the panels," Sousa said.
"I then filled the cracks with some spackle to give it texture and smoothed it over with a wet sponge."
You can pick up faux rock wall panels on Amazon. This one by Concord Wallcoverings looks similar to the one that Sousa used.
And when it's time to move out, you can take the facade down within just a few minutes.
You may be living in a rental, but that doesn't mean you have to sacrifice your style. Just pick up some contact paper and faux rock wall panels, and you’re ready to fulfill your aesthetic dream.
